If I were Gerrrard I might have retired

Luis Suarez has said that he would have thought about retiring, if
he had slipped like Steven Gerrard did against Chelsea – an incident that proved costly in their quest to win the Premier League last season.
Brendan Rodgers’ team were hot favourites to clinch the title and were on an 11-game winning streak, needing only seven points from their last three matches.
However, in the match against the Blues at Anfield, Gerrard lost his footing and Demba Ba stole the ball and gave Jose Mourinho’s men the lead. Chelsea went on to win 2-0.

“If I had been in Stevie’s shoes, I don’t know if I would have been able to carry on playing,” Suarez writes in his new autobiography, serialised in the Guardian.
“Emotionally, it must have been very, very hard.
“In the previous weeks, so much had been said about him, the expectation had built so much, the talk had been about him leading Liverpool, his club, to a first title in over 20 years, on the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, in which his cousin had died, and then that happens.
