Masherano won award ahead of Messi

The Barcelona central defence Javier Mascherano has won Barcelona’s Player of
the Year award ahead of his Lionel Messi. Though, Lionel Messi has won this same award for the last three consecutive years.

He (Mascherano) wrote this on the officail website of the club “I thank all of you who voted for me to receive this prize.”

“We’ll try to continue doing things as well as we have until now, with the same dedication while trying to stay faithful to what a club like this demands, which is a lot.”

Mascherano was bought from Liverpool in the year 2010.
