"Any was not imposed on me" Shuaib Amodu speaks
The Nigerian Super Eagles Interim Coach "Amodu Shuaib" has said that, the 66-man list of players that he was given by the Technical Department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was to guide him in the team selection.
NFF gave Shuaib Amodu list of possible players, that will be available to play in the remaining two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match on Tuesday.
The new coach and his technical crew,that includes Gbenga Ogunbote, Salisu Yusuf, and Alloy Agu, will have a meeting with the Director of Technical Department of the NFF, Emmanuel Ikpeme in order to finalize the preparations ahead of the matches.
Amodu said to reporters that, “What the Technical Department of the NFF has done by giving us the list of (66) players is what a proper Technical Department should do for any coach that is coming in.”
“They just give us the list of players that plays regularly in their clubs both at home and abroad. These are the kind of impact we expect from them.
“They did not impose any player on me. They just told me that, ‘look at this large pool of players and come out with the players you want and we will support you.’ That is what they told me.” Shuaib Amodu said.
